I am a Year 3 Computer Science undergraduate at the University of Hong Kong and an IB Diploma graduate from the Canadian International School in Singapore. I achieved an IB score of 40/45 and was awarded the IB Bilingual Diploma, with Grade 7 in Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL, Physics HL, and Chemistry HL. I also achieved Grade 6 in Economics SL and Chinese A: Language and Literature SL, as well as Grade B in both my Mathematics Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge. I have experience providing private and small-group tutoring to school students. During secondary school, I also founded and led a Science Club, where I taught scientific concepts to junior students through clear explanations and engaging activities. My teaching approach focuses on genuine understanding rather than memorization. I break complex concepts and problems into manageable steps, identify each student’s areas for improvement, and encourage students to develop independent problem-solving skills. As a Computer Science student with experience in Python, Java, and C++, I can also support students in introductory programming and computational thinking. I just finished my A levels in the UK, consisting of Biology,Chemistry and Maths and am currently holding a conditional offer to study Medicine at Kings College London the coming September. I am back in HK for the summer and am happy to tutor. I grew up in HK and went to local schools, so while being English, I am fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. I'm a student at King's College London studying Economics & Management, currently on track for First Class Honours. In Year 12, I was awarded the Economics Prize for consistently achieving top performance in my cohort during mocks and exams. I am a friendly tutor which can provide support for Chemistry and Economics in Cantonese, English and Mandarin. For Economics lessons, they follow a clear, consistent structure designed to build lasting understanding. We start with a 5-minute recap of the previous lesson, ensuring students have a solid foundation before we build on new content. From there, we move into content learning, tailored to where the student is in their studies. For newer topics, we focus first on the underlying economic reasoning — making sure students genuinely understand the "why" before applying it. As students progress closer to their exams, the focus shifts towards essay technique, with heavy emphasis on constructing strong chains of reasoning that can be applied across question types, from 4-markers to 25-mark essays. Having missed an A* by just one mark in Economics at A-Level, and continuing my studies in the field at university, I understand exactly what it takes to close that gap and succeed.
